CLINTON, WILLIAM F. (BILL) Age 94, of Belen, NM, passed away on December 20, 2014. He was born in El Paso, TX on July 12, 1920. He moved to Carlsbad, NM and married M. Marguerette Smith in November of 1940. He joined the United States Marine Corps in May, 1944 and served in the 2nd Marine Division, 6th Regiment, 3rd Battalion, "K" Company, 2nd Platoon, and fought in the Pacific to include Saipan, Okinawa and in Nagasaki. He returned to civilian life to Carlsbad, NM in 1946 where he was employed by Potash Company of America for 25 years. He moved back to El Paso, TX in 1968 and worked for the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission until he retired in 1972, then moved to Albuquerque, NM in 2006. Bill was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters; his son C. Perry Clinton of Albuquerque, NM; and grandson Devon J. Clinton of Carlsbad, NM. He is survived by his sister Sybil Raper of Corpus Christi, TX; son Billy Jerome Clinton of Carlsbad, NM; daughter Marietta Mills and her husband Jerry of Rio Rancho, NM; daughter in law Janice Clinton of Albuquerque, NM; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. A Graveside Service with Military Honors will take place at the Santa Fe National Cemetery on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at 10:30 AM.
