JAEGER, GENE ARNOLD Gene Arnold Jaeger, 64, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2014 surrounded by family. Born July 12, 1950 in Espanola, New Mexico, Gene grew up in Los Alamos, New Mexico. At age 18, Gene began his undergraduate studies at New Mexico State University. After earning his Bachelors of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from New Mexico State University, Gene accepted a position as a mechanical engineer at China Lake Naval Air Warfare Center in Ridgecrest, California. During his time in Ridgecrest, Gene researched and developed weapons for the United States Navy, while also earning his Master's Degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder. After 42 years of dedicated federal service in Ridgecrest, Gene retired in 2013. Gene was an avid outdoorsman who loved nature, hunting, and fishing. Gene was also a member of the Indian Wells Valley Skeet and Trap Club. Son of Edna Jaeger and the late Morris Jaeger. Gene is survived by his beloved wife of 27 years, Nancy Jaeger; his two daughters Lauren and Kimberly Jaeger; his son Chad Jaeger; his brothers Dr. Dwight Jaeger and Scot Jaeger. Gene was preceded in death by his brother Bruce Jaeger. Following Gene's wishes, there will be no memorial service and his family will spread his ashes in northern New Mexico at a later date.
