MCGEE, MARGARET "MAGGIE" began her new life when she passed into the arms of God late evening December 14th at the age of 100 and 8 months. When asked what was her secret to such a long successful life, she would say without hesitation "humor". Maggie was tough, strong, independent, loyal, caring, and forgiving. She always spoke her mind with unfiltered opinions, and without a doubt, she was almost always right! Mother, grandmother, great- grandmother, aunt and friend will be missed but never forgotten. She joins her husband James T. McGee Sr. (1981) and her daughters Allene (2000) and Marilyn (2014), her parents Theron and Zora Palmer (1975), and her sisters Bertha Herzik (1987) and Ruby Conway (1978). Maggie missed all of them deeply and daily. She was born in Canada, March 28th, 1914, lived in NY, Texas, and moved to Albuquerque in 1961. She retired from APS in 1981 and was being cared for by her son James McGee Jr. and her daughter Kathy Rimsha with husband Bernie of Wisconsin, and daughter Marie McGee with Ron Childress of Albuquerque. Grandma Maggie was so proud of her seven grandchildren Pam, Bobby, Michael, Valerie, Alyson, Rachel and Samantha. She experienced great-grandmother joy to Sarah, Megan, Orion and little Breyden. The family expresses heart felt gratitude to Mom McGee's extended family and those who stayed in touch with her through the years. Not to be forgotten, her special caretakers who took the time and compassion to assist her with daily comfort, we thank you for being so kind. All of you meant so very much to her. Mom McGee was such a huge part of our lives demonstrating and setting the high standards of life, religion, morals, finances, common sense, confidence and inner strength. We will be lost without you Mom, but we'll be loving you ALWAYS, NOT FOR JUST AN HOUR, NOT FOR JUST A DAY BUT ALWAYS. Cremation has taken place. Please contact the McGee Family 505-321-1990 / 505-452-9952 for further information.
