CANNON, ROBERT 1923 - 2014 Robert (Bob) Cannon, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-great-grandfather passed away on December 15, 2014. Preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Marjorie. He is survived by six children: Stephen Cannon and wife Lugene; Becky Stevenson and husband Mike; Brian Cannon and wife Debby; Kim Conkwright and husband Jim; Kevin Cannon; Andy Cannon and wife Olga; 13 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Born in Massachusetts, Bob later lived in Virginia, Kentucky, and Texas. After enlisting in the Army Air Corps during WWII, flying 37 missions and receiving numerous medals and commendations for his service. After the war, he worked for American Airlines for several years. During this time, he met and married Marjorie before being recalled for the Korean War. During his tenure with the Air Force, the family was stationed at numerous bases around the world including Tripoli, Libya; Tachikawa, Japan; & Clark Air Base in the Philippines. Upon his retirement from the Air Force, the family settled in Albuquerque with Bob working in real estate. After eight years in Albuquerque, they moved out to a ranch in Moriarty where he divided his time between real estate and his dry cleaning business. He and Marjorie enjoyed the ranch lifestyle for the next 25 years. They moved back to Albuquerque in 2003. His loves were family, travel, golf, cribbage, gardening and reading. We truly miss his tremendous capacity for love, compassion, wit, humor, and competitive spirit. In accordance with his wishes, cremation will take place and his ashes spread in the spring. In memory of Bob, donations can be made to Smile Train, Wounded Warriors or the Alzheimer's Association.
