EGLIN, FREDERICK IRVING III U.S. ARMY, RETIRED Frederick Irving Eglin III "Fred", 54, an Albuquerque resident since 2009, passed away peacefully, October 24, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents, Major Frederick Irving Eglin Jr. and Faye E. Tucker, and his grandparents, Lt. Colonel Frederick Irving Eglin and Mary Lucille Eglin, Aunt Jane Eglin Camblin and brother, Heber Benton Tucker. He is survived by his brother Karl Anthony Eglin and wife Samantha of Rio Rancho; brother Eugene Eglin Bingham of Lipan, Texas; sister Juana Hiros and husband Bob of Birmingham; nieces, Amechele Toups and husband Trey of Birmingham, Kathryn Faye Eglin of Eugene, Bryanna McCloskey of Rio Rancho; nephews, Adam Colvin of Birmingham, Benjamin Colvin and wife Andrea of Birmingham, Sheldon McCloskey of Rio Rancho; great-nieces Riley Toups, Taylor Toups, Dylan Toups and Reagan Colvin of Birmingham; great-nephew Weston Colvin of Birmingham; cousins Patrick Camblin of Oviedo, Dr. Nolia Brandt and husband Bill of Tallahassee, and Erin Levin of Tallahassee, whose mother, Jane Eglin, was the daughter of Lt. Colonel Eglin and Mary Lucille Eglin. Fred was United States Army, Retired and along with his father was the namesake of his grandfather, for whom Eglin AFB, FL was named. He was a student of military history and loved reading the Bible. His favorite writer was Edgar Allan Poe. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, November 15, 2014 at NewLife, 2701 American Rd SE, Rio Rancho, NM 87124, with Pastor Alan Brooks, officiating. Private interment will follow at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA with his grandparents and aunt. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Wounded Warrior Project.
