NEWLIN, WALTER C. Walter C. Newlin was born on February 12, 1932 and passed on September 27, 2014. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Priscilla Girard Newlin; his 100 year old mother, Vivian Fox and her husband, M. D. Fox; daughters, LaTreasa Gooden, Lanette Rael Garcia and Gloria Wilson who became a part of the family in 1974; grandchildren, Joseph Frank Newlin, Deanna LaForce, Dawn Moguel-Gooden, Andrea Rapanos, Nicholas Rael, Matthew Garcia, Bernadette Becerra, Antoinette Aragon, and Anthony Maestas; fifteen great- grandchildren and numerous extended family. He was preceded in death by his son, Walter Leslie Newlin. Walter served with the US Army during the Korean Conflict and received two Bronze Stars. He was a Sprint car racer and had two antique cars, a Sheet Metal Worker with Local 49 and just received his 50 year pin; he served several years as President of Local 49 and is currently President of the Retired Sheet Metal Workers Local 49. He was still active with Boy Scouts of America and his church, Prince of Peace Lutheran. He was always laughing and liked to tell jokes. Services will be Tuesday, September 30, 2:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Lomas. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. Private Interment. FRENCH - Lomas 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE 505-275-3500
