GIOMBOLINI, RUTH MARIE Ruth Marie Giombolini, age 91, of Albuquerque, passed away on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 after a long illness. Ruth was born on November 6, 1922 in Bessemer, MI to Steve and Susan (Stefanik) Fodor. She was raised in Iron River, MI where she attended schools. She attended the University of Michigan and finished her education degree at Texas Western (UTEP) in El Paso. She earned her Master's of Education degree from the University of New Mexico. She worked at an ammunition plant during World War II, a telephone operator during the Korean War and was a teacher for 25 years at Roosevelt Elementary School in Gallup, NM. She was an avid birder and nature lover and a HUGE University of Michigan fan! She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Giombolini in 1995; two brothers, Bob and Norman Fodor; and her parents. She is survived by her son, Fred Giombolini and his wife Lisa of Albuquerque; daughters, Sally McNatt and husband Ronald of Albuquerque and Susan Giombolini of Jacksonville, FL; and six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the Monte Vista Christian Church, 3501 Campus Blvd. NE, and the family will receive friends after the memorial service.
