MCLAIN, LOUISE MCGLASSON Louise Genieve Tischer was born in Maud, OK on April 7, 1925 to her parents Arno Tischer and Elma Houtz Tischer. She graduated from high school in Harjo, OK. in 1943. Louise and Jasper Solomon McGlasson (Jap) were married in Greensburg, KS on August 15, 1943. Jasper was working on a war emergency pipeline job at the time, which took them from Kansas to Kentucky and then to Michigan. Their first child, Mary Cooper was born in Tulsa, OK in December 1945; Gary McGlasson was born in Shawnee, OK on January 1947; Arthur McGlasson was born in Michigan on February 1948; Donald McGlasson was born in Shawnee, OK on August 1949. The family settled in Shawnee until moving to Cuba, NM in 1955 where Louise and Jap operated an auto repair business. Louise managed the parts department and did the bookkeeping while still being a good mother and housewife. She was a member of the Nacemiento Womens Club and a member of the Cuba News Paper staff. After retiring, Jap and Louise moved back to Shawnee where Jap passed away in 1992. Louise lived with her son Gary in Los Lunas NM until she married Carroll McLain. Louise and Carroll lived in Cuba for a while before moving to Shawnee. After a time there, the urge to travel set in so they bought a RV trailer and started their journey to see America. After spending several years enjoying the sights and wonders, and traveling most of the states in the USA, they settled down in Roswell, NM, and finally in Belen, NM. Louise was preceded in death by her parents Arno and Elma Tischer and first husband Jasper McGlasson. She is survived by her husband Carroll McLain; children Mary Cooper, Gary McGlasson, Arthur McGlasson, and Donald McGlasson; grandchildren Valerie Lingle, David McLain, Steve McGlasson, Nolan McGlasson, Tracey Cook, Arthur McGlasson, Stephanie Birger, Ronnie McGlasson, Dustin McGlasson, and JJ McGlasson; brother Bill Tischer; sisters Rose Austin Vinson and Betty Adams. Louise passed away peacefully June 9, 2014. Services were held in Shawnee, OK on June 16, 2014 and she was laid to rest beside her first husband Jasper.
