MEYRICK, EARL J. JR. Age 86, of Lewiston died Thursday September 18, 2014 at D'Youville Pavilion following a long illness. He was born in Philadelphia, PA. on July 3, 1928 the son of the late Earl J. Sr. and Mary (Snow) Meyrick and had been a seasonal resident of this community for the past eight years. He had served with the United States Army from June 11, 1946 to August 21, 1963 having served in World War II. Earl was in the first Deaconate class of the Archdiocese of Santa Fe over forty years ago. He was very active in his ministry throughout all the various places that he lived in New Mexico, Washington State and Maine. He was a member the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus #641 of Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was an avid volunteer of the zoo, aquarium and the National Forest Service in New Mexico and here locally at the Maine Wildlife Park. He was a chaplain of the Boy Scouts Troop # 1974. He is survived by his wife the former Ceola M. Potts whom he married on June 28, 1952 of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Lewiston, Maine; one son Aaron Meyrick and his wife Debbie of McKinney, Texas; three daughters Franseen Lamarca and her husband Rafael of Marysville, Washington, Lisa Sylvester and her husband John of San Antonio, Texas and Sara Deshaies and her husband Scott of Lewiston; 13 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Charles Meyrick. A Funeral Mass honoring Earl's life will be celebrated on Tuesday September 23, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Holy Family Church. Committal services will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in Earl's memory may be made to the Maine Wildlife Park 56 Game Farm Rd., Gray, Me 04039.
