KNIGHT, PATSY WHEELER went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, September 13, 2014. Patsy was born July 18, 1936 to James and Geneva (Armer) Cox in Las Vegas, New Mexico. She graduated from Highland High School in Albuquerque, New Mexico. After attending Cottey College in Missouri, Patsy graduated from the University of New Mexico with a bachelors degree in education. Patsy married Donald King Wheeler in January of 1959. They lived primarily in Lubbock, where Don set up his medical practice. Don preceded Patsy in death in 1988. Patsy was blessed to find the second love of her life in Harvey Dell Knight. They married in the fall of 1997. They lived in Lubbock until her death early Saturday morning. Patsy was active until recent years in the First Presbyterian Church, First Baptist Church of Brownfield, a local P.E.O. chapter, and the Community Bible Study. Patsy loved to square dance with Harvey and spend time with family, laughing and playing games. Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, James and Geneva Cox, her sister, Norma Jean Rose, of Indiana, her brother, Charles Cox of Utah, and her daughter, Joy Lynn Wheeler. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Harvey Knight, and his children Shere Forbes and husband Ronnie, Carla Tyler, and Dell Knight and wife Cecilia. Her memory will be treasured by her children Jennifer Kestner and husband Bob, Jacque Mull and husband Warren, Jim Wheeler and wife Melinda, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Visitation was held September 15, 2014 from 5 to 7 PM in Resthaven Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 16 at 10 AM in Resthaven's Abbey Chapel with burial to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park.
