DEL CURTO, DANTE DEAN Age 35, journeyed home to be with the Lord on July 22, 2014. A life-long resident of New Mexico, Dante was born in Alamogordo, NM on October 28, 1978. He spent his early years in Vaughn, NM and graduated from high school in Moriarty, NM. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Arthur and Susan Del Curto, James and Nina George; a sweet little one he and Brandi lost before birth; his Father, George "Butch" Del Curto; his Godparents, George and Alice Luna; his niece, Lainey Lower. Dante is survived by his children, Trey, Devyn, Audrey and their mom, Brandi Dillard. He loved them all with every drop of his being. He is also survived by his mother, Sue Del Curto; brother, Bryan and sister-in-law, Barbara Del Curto; step-mother, JoAnn Del Curto; dear family friend, John Recio, his in-laws, Gene and Vicki Lower, Ryan and Lucia Lower; nephews, Ivan and Desiree Del Curto, Nathan and Kristen Del Curto, Dalton Lower; great nephews and nieces, Jacob, Santiago, Lyla and Sophia Del Curto, with two more on the way. He is also survived by a multitude of loving aunts, uncles, primos and primas. Dante's trademarks were his sense of humor and his smile. He enjoyed making others smile and laugh and if you made the mistake of doing something he found funny or entertaining, he was sure to turn it into a story and share it with others. Without fail, over time, the story was sure to grow and might be slightly embellished so to entertain his listeners even more. For reasons unknown and to the chagrin of many around him Dante was an enthusiastic and life-long Denver Broncos fan. He would revel when his team beat yours and couldn't wait for the next game if the Broncos happened to lose. In short, if Dante was ribbing you about something, you knew that he loved you. For the past 15 years, Dante committed his career to the Dept. of Veterans' Affairs, working to serve the veteran community through clinical research with the Cooperative Studies Program. He enjoyed his job and especially loved being around his friends and co-workers. He was proud to work there and he was proud to serve those who served our country. In recent years, Dante found a new love for his Catholic faith and had committed himself to serving Jesus Christ and his people. He was very involved in the ACTS ministry and worked tirelessly to help other men come to know Jesus Christ and to experience the love of the Lord and the love of others he'd found through his relationship with the Lord and his involvement in ACTS. He gained so many friends in the process and helped bring many people closer to the Lord though his love and service. Services were held Tuesday July 29, 2014 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1502 Sara Road SE, Rio Rancho, NM. Interment followed at Vista Verde Memorial Park, Rio Rancho.
