GRIEGO, CARLOS A. (FREDDY) age 68, a resident of Albuquerque, went to be with the Lord on December 6, 2013. Freddy was preceded in death by his mother, Victoria Griego; his custodial grandmother, Carolina Griego; his custodial grandfather, Celso Griego; and his stepmother, Helen Griego. Freddy is survived by his wife, Lydia Montoya-Griego; sons, Jerome and Clifford Griego; sister, Shirley Gutierrez; nephews, Victor and Toby Gutierrez; father, Celso Griego; step brother, Rudy Griego; and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins. Freddy was a proud Veteran, serving during the Vietnam Era, where he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal and recognition as a Marksman. He was a loyal patriot who valiantly served his country with honor and distinction. He was tremendously generous to those in need with a deep humility and was always willing to give what he could to help those around him in need. Freddy was a gentle, peaceful man who had a profound love and devotion to God. He was member of the Catholic Church, the D.A.V., Chapter 3 and the American Legion, Post 49. Freddy will be missed more than any words could ever express. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 10, 2013 from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel by Pat Muniz-Roberts. Final visitation will be Wednesday, December 11, 2013 from 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. at St. Joseph on the Rio Grande Catholic Church, 5901 St. Joseph NW, Monsignor Lambert Luna, presider.
