ATENCIO, GLORIA Gloria Atencio, 66, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, went to be with the Lord Friday, December 6, 2013. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Charles Anthony "Chuck" Atencio; parents, Luis and Ramona Saiz; daughter, Deborah Yvette Gonzales and husband, Ron; sons, Matthew Charles Atencio and Andrew Paul Atencio; grandson, Christopher Matthew Atencio; granddaughters, Sara Grace Gonzales and Isabella Marian Atencio; brothers, Louie Saiz and wife, Theresa and Marty Saiz and wife, Yvonne; sisters, Yolanda Sinkar, Christine Saiz, Victoria Cruz and husband, Corey, Rebecca Cox and Bridget Serna and husband, Raymond; and many nieces and nephews. Gloria graduated from St. Mary's High School. She worked for and retired from Sandia National Laboratory. Mrs. Atencio was active at the Barelas Senior Center. She was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. A rosary will be recited Tuesday, December 10, 2013, 6:00 p.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 1818 Coal Place SE, Albuquerque, with Raymond Serna reciting. Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 11, 2013, 10:00 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, with Father Jerome D. Mueller, Celebrant. Interment will take place at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mike Gomez, Joseph Saiz, Ricky Baros, Marcos Serna, Christian Saiz, and Phillip Saiz. Honorary pallbearers will be David Saiz, Jeremy Cox, Josh Cruz, Gregory Saiz and Martine Saiz. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church.
