BARON, SGT. ROBERT W. Age 47, an eight-year resident of Bernalillo, NM passed away on Friday, December 6, 2013. He was born on September 10, 1966 to James Bernard and Karola (Loder) Baron of Simi Valley, CA. He graduated from California State, Northridge with a BA in Political Science and Public Administration. He was very proud of his work with the US Park Service as a Ranger, the Los Angeles County as a Probation Officer, and just being promoted to Sergeant with the Sandoval County Sheriff's Office. Robert was very involved with the Law Enforcement United which is an organization committed to "Honor the Fallen, and Remember the Survivors." He had ridden in the LEU Annual Memorial Bicycle Ride in memory of Sgt. Joe Harris in 2010. Sgt. Baron's hobbies included Shotokan Karate where he had earned his second degree black belt, riding horses, and was a leader in Boy Scouts. He was, also a member of Calvary Chapel of Rio Rancho. His quick sense of humor and love and devotion to his family will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his father, James Baron; and brother, Tony Baron. Sgt. Baron is survived by his wife of 20 years, Christine "Krysia" (Peleszak) Baron, of Bernalillo, NM; son, Colter Eljasz Baron, of Bernalillo, NM; mother, Karola Paul, of Escondido, CA; sister, Terese H. Baron Hill and husband, Sylvan, of Marlboro, NJ; niece, Avery Faith Hill; nephews, Daniel Baron, Andrew Baron and Michael Baron. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at the Santa Ana Star Center, 3001 Civic Center Circle SE, Rio Rancho, NM 87144. Inurnment will follow at Vista Verde Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers donations may be given in Robert's honor to Law Enforcement United at P.O. Box 2126, Chesapeake, VA 23320. These kind contributions will assist the LEU's support of Concerns of Police Survivors and the Officer Down Memorial Page.
