MCINTYRE, DAVID EARL SR. a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, passed away at the age of 84 on July 2, 2013, after a long struggle with COPD. The eighth of ten children, David was a 1947 graduate of St. Mary's High School, and proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Following his military service, he co-owned Sandia Glass for 35 years with the late Billy G. Campbell. Affectionately known as "Notre Dave" for his love of Notre Dame football, David loved sports and fishing, but his greatest devotion was to his wife of 62 years, Jean, with whom he was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Parish for 60 years, and their eleven children. David is survived by his wife, Jean; two daughters, Kathleen Sedillos and Mary DeRoche; nine sons and their wives: Tom and Sandy, Jim and Mary, Bob and Melissa, Dave and Beth, John and Liz, Tim and Laurie, Paul and Erika, Bill, Joe and Carla; 26 grandchildren: Carrie, Jessica, Kevin, Jaime, Jennifer, Sarah, Michael, Eugene, Monica, Lindsay, Sean, Nicholas, Andrew, Heather, Shannon, Derick, Chelsea, Jake, Courtney, Jeremiah, Mikayla, Madeline, Ashley, Amanda, Audrey, and Marissa; 11 great-grandchildren: Marquis, Isaac, Nadia, Katrina, Ethan, Spencer, Bailey, Abby, Trey, Molly, and Maggie; his brother, Craig McIntyre and wife, Thomasine; sister-in-law, Mary Lee McIntyre; sister-in-law Peggy Merkel; brother-in-law, George Arnot; sister-in-law Mary Fattor and husband, Victor; and many nieces and nephews. The Rosary will be recited at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 8th at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church. The Mass of Christian Burial, celebrated by Rev. Edward Domme, will follow at 11:00a.m. David will be interred at Santa Fe National Cemetery on Tuesday, July 9th. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in David's memory to the charity of your choice.
