CHIAVARIO, BARBARA MARILYN Age 84, passed away on July 3, 2013 after a long battle with Parkinsons. She is survived by her loving husband, Richard; her daughters, Jeron Kerwin and husband Mike; Lisa Henry and husband Matt; grandchildren Chris Kerwin and wife Tammy; Kenny Henry and wife Mandy; Kurt Henry; and Kyle Henry and wife Nan; great-grandchildren Kelly Henry, Lacey Henry, Lily Kerwin and Sean Henry; sister Sue Reese and husband Donald; sister-in-law Shirlee Chiavario, many nieces and nephews and her many friends. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Harvard and Gladys Herbert, her brother Jack Herbert and her beloved son Tony. Barbara was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church since 1957. She was a kind, loving and caring wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and great- grandmother. She was very active in her children's lives and later in her grandson's lives. Granma Chiavario attended every sporting event they participated in, whether it was in town or out of town. Barbara enjoyed attending Jazzercise for many years and was a great cook. After her children were raised, Barbara worked at the UNM ticket office where she made a set of friends that brought great joy to her life. After retirement, she always looked forward to their "lunch bunch" get togethers. Recently, Barbara looked forward to getting her hair done on Wednesday morning and then coffee time with her friends Eunice and Catherine. Barbara also loved her lifelong best friend Susie Simcox of Decauter, IL. We are sincerely thankful to Silva House Assisted Living for all their loving care, especially Roseann and Alliance Hospice for their help comforting Barbara. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinsons Disease Foundation in Albuquerque, (800) 457-6676.
