RAMEY, GEORGIA WERTS Age 77,passed away on June 6,2013 in Albuquerque. Georgia was born on November 28,1935 in Oquawka Illinois, where she attended local schools and Monmouth College, Monmouth, Illinois before moving to Albuquerque. She is survived by her son Eric Ramey, brother Larry Werts and granddaughters, Samantha and Jessie. She was preceded in death by her parents Meredith (Monte)and Olivia Werts. Georgia was employed by Lovelace Clinic for over 30 years in clinical and diagnostic technology. She retired after a severe stroke left her in a coma for nearly 30 days. After recovering, to enjoy life, she traveled to South Africa and Scotland, hiked in the mountains with her friends, worked as a docent at the Albuquerque Zoo and participated in all the many cultural activities offered in her adopted home in New Mexico. As a single working mother Georgia showed great courage and determination as she cared for her son and earned her degree from the University of New Mexico, rose in her profession and found a roll for herself in the community. Memorial arrangements are pending.
