COOK, ELSIE HARRIS Age 92, a resident of Albuquerque, died Wednesday, June 19, 2013. She is survived by her niece, Kathy and husband Steve Kellenaers of Farmington, NM; nephews, Robert and wife Jane Leese of Pasadena, CA, James Leese and wife Michele, of Fort Myers, FL, Mark Leese and wife Joanz, of Denver, CO; great-niece, Tamara Morgan; numerous nieces and nephews; step-daughters, Carleen Kochanski and Billy Felicetti; and friends, David and Reid Olson and Anna Gutierrez. Elsie was preceded in death by her husband Lt. Col. Carl L. Cook; by her husband, Nelson Harris; son, Scott Harris; daughter, Holly Harris; parents, Walter and Mittie Coplen; sister, Lois Leese; and brother, Frank Coplen. She was a member of the Junior League of Albuquerque and a member of Immanuel Presbyterian Church. She graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1939 and attended the University of New Mexico as a member of the Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. She was a stewardess for Continental and was married to Nelson Harris in 1945 until his passing in 1985. She was then married to Lt. Col. Carl L. Cook in 1996 until his passing in 2011. She was always impeccably dressed and served as an inspiration to her family and friends with her optimism and refinement. Many have voiced the sentiments of how she will be missed.
