DURAN, LUIS A. Age 88, resident of Vaughn, NM, passed away March 31, 2013. He was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice Duran; son, Alfonso L. Duran; parents, Santos and Barbarita Duran; brothers: Rogue, Luciano, Willie Duran and Antonio Herrera. Luis is survived by his daughter, Dorothy Barbero (Robert) of Santa Cruz; daughter-in-law, Lorraine Duran of Santa Fe; grandchildren: Adrian and Aaron Barbero of Santa Cruz, Kristi Barbero-Telles of Albuquerque, NM, Doreen, Michelle Duran, Andrea Sisneros of Santa Fe; great grandchildren: John Paul and Marina Sisneros, Gina, Arianna and Antonio Baldonado, and Devlen and Dilon Barbero; brother, Paul Duran of Denver, CO; sisters: Tillie Hurd of Denver, CO and Jane Cavazos of SanBenito, TX; and many other relatives. Luis was an Army Veteran who served in WWII South Pacific. He was a school bus driver with Vaughn Public Schools for 35 years. He worked as a Railroader Track Maintenance for 20 years. Luis belonged to Knights of Columbus, Commander, American Legion, Vaughn Volunteer Fire Department and was very active in the St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Vaughn Senior Center. Serving as pallbearers will be: Adrian, Aaron and Kristi Barbero, Doreen and Michell Duran and Adrea Sisneros. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Alex Gazolas, John Morgan, Marcos Arguello, A. P. Anaya, Rumaldo Lopez and all of his friends at the Senior Citizens Center. A Rosary will be recited at St. Mary's Catholic Church on Friday, April 5, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass at 10:00 a.m. A Burial will be held at Santa Fe National Cemetery on Monday, April 8, 2013 at 10:30 a.m.
