HOWARD, JOHN DOW JR. On February 7, 2013, we lost one more of the Greatest Generation. At age 92, John Dow Howard Jr. passed away surrounded by family. John was born in West Virginia. He served his country during WWII in England where he met his wife and began a family. He returned to the West Virginia area and was a master mechanic in high demand. He moved his family to Albuquerque in 1959. Later he spent many years in Arizona where he also served as a Grand Master of the Masonic Lodge. John spent his twilight years back in New Mexico where he delighted in family. He leaves behind sister, Helen Johnson; children, Carol Cline and husband Mike, J.D. Howard, III and wife Frances, Pamela Dianne Whiteman, Lori Clay and husband Calvin, Robin Howard Ulman and husband Robert; grandchildren, Michael and Christ Cline, Melissa Hardin, Michele and Byron Luetters, Cheryl and Zac Shadle, Lisa and Brian McCreary; and great-grandchildren, Russel, Trevor, Twila, Ryan, Megan, Nathan, Olivia, Madison, David, Isabelle and Chloe. Memorial service at Central United Methodist Church, 201 University NE, Albuquerque, NM on Thursday, February 14th at 10:00am, followed by interment at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 12:45pm.
