YEAMAN, DONALD LEE Age 77, born in Denver, CO on June 10, 1935. A resident of Albuquerque since 1972 and Rio Rancho since 1990 passed away peacefully on January 1, 2013 to begin his new journey. Don is survived by his wife of 57 years, Barbara (Banck) Yeaman of Dubuque, IA, with whom he fell in love as a freshman in high school and has been with her ever since; sons, Christopher Yeaman of Albuquerque, NM and Michael Yeaman and wife Pamela, of Redondo Beach, CA; daughters, Donna Dietz and husband, Tom, of Albuquerque, NM, and Michele Cates and husband, Charles, of Albuquerque, NM; grandchildren, Laura Yeaman and Tamara Yeaman of Las Vegas, NM, Benjamin Cates of Albuquerque, NM; Deanna Reuter and husband Mike, of Corpus Christi, TX; Robert Dietz and wife, Deidre of Chicago, IL; great-grandchildren, Aiden Dietz and Abigail Dietz, of Chicago, IL, and Isaiah and Aisha Dominguez, of Las Vegas, NM; 12 cousins, and many nieces and nephews and extended family members and friends. Donald was raised in Kansas City, MO where he entered the United States Air Force in 1954. Don and Barbara were married in 1955, thus beginning their life of raising children and serving our country at home and abroad until ultimately ending in a permanent home in Rio Rancho, NM. He performed special duties while in the Air Force such as Life Support and Escape Systems on U-2 and the highly secret SR-71 Black Bird aircraft, and was a Recruiter, First Sergeant and Sergeant Major before retiring in 1975 in Albuquerque. Upon retiring, he worked as a printing salesman and General Manager with the Valliant Printing Co. until 1986 when he started his own printing brokerage company until he sold the business and retired again in 1998. Don was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. He was a past member of the Knights of Columbus, Elks, Rotary and Sertoma Clubs, President of PTA and Printing House Craftsman and dedicated 25 years to Little League Baseball as umpire, manager and President. In his younger days, "Yea" as friends called him, held such extra jobs as a pinsetter, soda jerk, theater usher, car, men's clothing and life insurance salesman, and real estate agent. Don gave of himself, his time and his gifts to anyone in need. Our families and all who knew him have been blessed and enriched by his love, faith, talents, wisdom and SENSE OF HUMOR. He lived his life to the fullest and loved to play golf, read, woodwork, play cards, e-mail friends, and travel the world with his wife, Barby. The Rosary will be recited at 10:00 A.M. followed by the Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1521 Sara Road SE, Rio Rancho. Inurnment with full military honors will follow at 2:15 P.M. at Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, NM. Honorary Pallbearers will be Michele, Benjamin, and Charles Cates; Abigail, Aiden, Deidre, Donna, Robert, and Tom Dietz; Matthew Loveday; The Miller Family; Robyn and Michael Moore; Deanna and Mike Reuter; and Laura, Tamara, Paul E., Chris, Pamela, and Michael Yeaman. We ask that you respect Don by honoring the men and women who serve our country, past and present. In lieu of flowers, it is requested that Don be remembered by donations to the New Mexico Multiple Sclerosis Society at www.nationalmssociety.org or to the charity of your choice.
