CORRELL, A. D. 1920-2012 age 92, a resident of Belen, passed away Wednesday, December 19, after a short illness. He was a proud veteran of WWII and served 28 months in the Pacific Theatre. His unit was the 864th Army Aviation Engineers, which have gone down in history as one of the best, and is still an active unit serving in the current conflict. A. D. was an engineer on the AT&SF Railroad for 43 years, and loved his job. He was also a talented carpenter, and built the home where his family was raised. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce; son, Monte; and 12 brothers and sisters. A. D. is survived by his daughter, Maxine Scripter and her husband Larry of Belen; grandson, Andy Correll of Las Cruces; and many loving nieces and nephews. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice in A. D.'s name.
