HICKS, MARIAN E. Age 92, passed away on Thursday, November 8, 2012 in Huntsville, AL after a short illness. Marian was born on February 3, 1920 to Harvey Clinton Moore and Bernice Chipman Moore. She grew up in Iowa residing in Albuquerque, NM from 1959 to 1971 and Bountiful, Utah from 1971 to 1988. She has resided in Alabama since 2009. Marian retired from the Utah School System as a Cafeteria Manager after 17 years and returned to Albuquerque with husband, Paul in 1988. Over her lifetime she volunteered as a Girl Scout Leader, Den Mother and Sunday School Teacher. She was a member of St. John United Methodist Church in Albuquerque since 1959. Marian loved to read, make wedding cakes, square dance and enjoyed her family and friends. She is survived by her daughter, Julie Ann Monahan of Lincoln , NE, daughter, Paulette Tyler and husband, Roger of Madison, AL; son, Dennis Hicks and wife, LaRae of Southlake, TX; son in-law, Wendell Johnson of Perry, Utah; 14 grandchildren, Clint Johnson and wife, Julie, Jeff Johnson, Lynnette (Johnson) Jackson and husband, Bruce, Ron Monahan and wife, Cindy, Vicki (Monahan) Benjamin and husband, Dallas, Jim Monahan and wife, Mary Jane, Mari Kae (Monahan) Lee, Rachelle (Tyler) Johnson and husband, James, Travis Tyler and wife, Ashley, Zachary Hicks and wife, Emily; stepson, Mark Davis and wife, Natalie; stepson, Greg Davis and wife, Julie; stepdaughter, Jenifer Garner and husband, Ben, stepdaughter Natalie Pehrson and husband,Tim and 26 great-grandchildren ranging from the age of 36 yrs. to 5 months with #27 due March 7; niece, Sheri Locket of Golden, CO, and many other family and friends. Marian was preceded in death by her husband, Paul E. Hicks; her brother, Charles Moore; and her daughter, Mary Lee Johnson. The family would like to thank American Seniors Assistance Program (ASAP) for their care and guidance, South Hampton Nursing Home and North Alabama Hospice. The family would also like to thank the Palliative Care Team at Huntsville Hospital who made Marian's final days peaceful. A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2012, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Wyoming, with funeral services at 2:00 p.m. Interment immediately following at Sunset Memorial Park.
