GILLEN, HELEN MARIA (GARITY) Born on September 16, 1940 and entered eternal rest on September 25, 2012 in Phoenix, Arizona at the age of 72. Burial will be at the Santa Fe National Cemetery on October 17, 2012. Helen married Larry Gillen in March 1961. She dedicated her life to her husband Larry and her children. Helen and Larry liked the beauty of the southwest so much that they retired in New Mexico in 1976. They stayed in New Mexico the majority of their retired lives. Helen enjoyed watching western movies, as well as, staying current with national and local news. Survivors include her two children: Cheryl (David) Carter, Tony Gillen; two grandchildren: Dominique and Sean Carter; five sisters: RoseMary (Rex) Kneedler, Laura (Bob) O'Riley, Martha Miller, Agnes (Hal) Burton and Teresa (Lonnie) Reynolds; four brothers: Fred (Elaine) Garity, Pat (Linda) Garrity, Ed (Sharon) Garity and David Garity; numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding Helen in death was her husband Larry Gillen; parents: James and Mary (Dant) Garity; son: Mark Gillen; granddaughter: Desiree Carter; four brothers: Michael, Richard, Joe, and Ted Garity; and one sister: Margaret Blazek.
