PAGE, LOIS a long time resident of Albuquerque, passed away at her home on September 20, 2012 after a short illness. She was born, the second of five children, on September 10, 1927 in Helena, Montana to Otto and Genevieve Gruel. As a child, she and her family witnessed the construction of the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco before traveling to Richmond, VA via the Panama Canal. She graduated from high school in Knoxville, TN, then studied nursing in Sioux City, IA, achieving an RN. She practiced nursing at Jefferson Barracks near St. Louis, MO, the Albuquerque VA and Anna Kaseman hospital. Known for her keen intelligence and tireless energy, she spent her life helping others through volunteer work with the Roadrunner Food Bank, Friends of the Albuquerque Library, Martineztown House of Neighborly Service, and the Storehouse. She was predeceased by her husband, Cecil. She is survived by her three daughters and their families: Janie Page of Oakland, CA, and partner Larry Sovulewski of Boulder Creek, CA; Susan Page, her husband, Mark Pallardy, and their children, Russell Page, Irene Pallardy and Vivian Page; and Nancy and Bobby Lee of Albuquerque. She is also survived by two brothers, Glen of San Diego, CA and Carl of Vienna, VA; and her neighbor Dale Williams. Lois was a long time member of First Presbyterian Church where services will be held at 10:00am on October 8, 2012.
