TAPIA -- JOE RICHARD SR. Age 82, passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2012. He was born in Magdalena, New Mexico on September 27, 1929, to Bernabel and Severita Tapia. Joe was married to his beloved wife Nancy Tapia of 60 years. Joe graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1947. He served in the Navy and Retired from the US Post Office. Joe also served as a Euchrist Minister and an Usher at Queen of Heaven and a Knight with the Knights of Columbus. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Emilio Tapia; grandson, Jeremy Campos; son-in-law Michael Montoya. Joe is survived by his spouse Nancy Tapia; children, Rey Pineiro, Terry Walton, Lorraine Montoya, Frank Pineiro, Joe R. Tapia Jr.; daughters-in-laws, Denise Pineiro and Christina Tapia; grandchildren, Steven Tapia, Felicia Campos, Antonette Moore, Valerie Montoya, Joseph and Cameron Tapia; great-grandchildren, Samantha Tapia, Sienna Campos-Gallegos, Sophia Campos- Gallegos, Roman Campos-Gallegos, Aiden Montoya; siblings, Ernest Tapia, Cordelia Sanchez, Barbara Fernandez, Deede Gonzales; and dearest friends Abe and Connie Apodaca; pet, his sweet little princess Roxy. Rosary to be recited on Thursday, July 26, 2012 at 7:00 PM at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 5311 Phoenix Ave NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 27, 2012 at 12:30 PM at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Interment at Sandia Memory Gardens following the Mass. A Reception at the Knights of Columbus Hall on San Mateo July 27, 2012 following the interment. Pallbearers will be Steven Tapia, Joseph Tapia, Cameron Tapia, Abe Apodaca, Doug Reed, Samantha Tapia.
