ORTIZ-RECHNER -- FRANCES C. Age 76, passed away on Saturday, May 26, 2012. She was born in Magdalena, NM to Trinidad G. Chavez and Placida Rubio and was the youngest of fourteen children. She attended Magdalena High School where she was a cheerleader and on the volleyball team. Frances also loved country music and dancing and her favorite song was "Just a Little Love", by Jaye P. Morgan. She was preceded in death by her father, mother and siblings, Juan Chavez; Willy Chavez; Valentina Lewis; Miguel Chavez; Pedro Chavez; Carlotta Salome and Frances' former husband Frank M. Ortiz. Frances is survived by her only son, Michael Joseph Ortiz and his partner Cory M. Heidenberger; best friend, LeOra Heidenberger; nieces, Jill Salome, Gloria Ramierez, Gualalupe and husband Narcisso Gallegos, Luz and husband Jim Romero, Trini and husband Randy Romero and sister-in-law, Amalia Chavez. Also surviving Frances are her extended family, Lana and husband Danny Thomas, Marissa "Missy" and Brandon Thomas as well as many great nieces and great-nephews. Last but not least, her Collie Blue and her Min-Pin, Sinbad, AKA "Sudafed", two box turtles and a Chihuahua, Sammie. "We all love you and miss you". A Celebration of Frances's life will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at the home of Cory and Michael.
