WEIDNER -- MIRIAM D. Of 1521 Dartmouth Drive NE was born June 11, 1927 in Fresno, California and went to be with her Lord on May 23, 2012 at age 84 in her home in Albuquerque. She is one of nine children of Reverend Eli T. and Phoebe R. Martinez. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth; her four children, Scott, Carol, Douglas and Keith; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and her remaining siblings, Charlotte, Phoebe, Hiram and Sylvia. Miriam attended Albuquerque High School, McCurdy Mission School in Espanola, NM and Howard Payne University. She worked at Rainbow Bread prior to joining Sandia National Labs where she met and married Kenneth Weidner in 1952. She left her position at Sandia to begin a family and spend more time in service to her Lord and church. Throughout her life, Miriam dedicated her life to Christian Ministry. She touched the lives of countless people with her talent as a musician. In her service to the church she served as pianist and organist for over 60 years. During that time Miriam also taught Sunday school, vacation bible school, and volunteered for special mission activities of the church. She played for women's softball teams for many years, primarily as pitcher. Her loving and unselfish nature was extended to others beyond her blood and church families. She opened her heart and home to foreign students from all over the world. She mentored them on our cultural differences, supported their educational activities, and showed them many of New Mexico's top sightseeing and historical destinations. Her many friends and her large family will miss her dearly. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at French - Lomas Chapel.
