OAKS -- SAMMIE L. Age 74, a resident of Albuquerque since 1975, went to be with her Lord Wednesday, May 2, 2012. She is survived by her husband, Bill Oaks; son, Samuel L. Kyllingstad and wife, Patricia of San Antonio, TX; grandson, Samuel Alberto Kyllingstad of Edmond, OK; granddaughter, Gabriela Ariana Kyllingstad; granddaughter, Daniela Alejandra Kyllingstad; grandson, Joshua Ariel Kyllingstad; great-granddaughter, Emilee Andrea Balderas all of San Antonio, TX and step-son, Gregory C. Oaks of Billings, MT. Mrs. Oaks was preceded in death by her son, Mark James Kyllingstad. She was a member of the NM Quilters' Association and Embroiderers' Guild of America. Sammie was a present member of Las Aranas Weavers' Guild and the Albuquerque Rug Hooking Group. She volunteered at El Rancho de Las Golondrinas demonstrating and teaching colcha embroidery. Most recently, Sammie was involved in greeting card making. She was a member of the Roadrunner Region of America Porsche Club. Mrs. Oaks was a member of Calvary of Albuquerque. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Monday, May 7, 2012, 11:00 a.m. at Calvary of Albuquerque, 4001 Osuna Rd NE, with Pastor Skip Heitzig, officiating. Interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Calvary of Albuquerque, 4001 Osuna Rd.
