HELGESEN -- RICHARD (RICK) Age 58, a long-time resident of Albuquerque, NM, passed away peacefully due to a short illness at home on May 3, 2012. Rick was born in Albuquerque, NM to Earl and Alice Helgesen. Rick grew up in Princeton, NJ where he ran a successful construction business, R.E.H. Construction Company. In 1985, he moved back to Albuquerque to join the rest of his family who had relocated and started his second business, REH DESIGN as a custom home contractor. In 1997, after buying his first PC - prior to that he was an old Apple aficionado, he self-taught himself everything there was to know about computers; programming, building, you name it. This resulted in his second career in Computer Graphics and Animation. Rick touched all the lives he encountered and was deeply loved by his family and friends. Rick reciprocated this love by always taking care of those who surrounded him in his life, particularly his beloved wife, Donna; sons, Alex and Gregory Cunningham; parents and family; and numerous friends. Even the deepest grief felt by all those who were close to him cannot match the love that he gave. He lived life with all his heart. Though his time was short, his impact on family and friends will be felt forever. He touched the hearts of many and will be greatly missed. He is survived in life by his beloved wife of 18 years, Donna; sons, Alex and Gregory Cunningham; parents, Earl and Alice; brothers, Chris and his wife Karen, Scott and his wife Sandy, and David and his wife Joyce; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Friends may visit French - Wyoming Chapel Monday, May 7, 2012 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Services will be held Tuesday, May 8, 2012, 11:00 a.m., also at French - Wyoming Chapel.
