BOXX -- A. CARL Age 88 years young, passed away on March 29, 2012. Carl was born in Missouri on June 5, 1923 and moved to Albuquerque with his wife, Betty in the late 1940's, Carl was in the Merchant Marines during the war and was in the Phillipines where he and Betty met and married on September 7, 1946. When they returned to the states Carl spent 14 months in the hospital in Pittsburg for TB of the spine. He was told to move to New Mexico or Arizona for his health. He was told he would never work and that he would have to wear a back brace all his life. Carl and Betty moved to Albuquerque and he took the back brace off and in 1951 went to work for Sandia Labs where he retired. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty-83; his daughter, Peggy L. Dale-29; and his infant son, Gregory Carl Boxx-4 mo.; his parents, Ira and Clara Boxx of Ellisnore, MO; and a brother, Glen Boxx of Springfield, MO. He is survived by three children, Carla Williams and her husband, Richard of Albuquerque, Gary Boxx of Albuquerque, Tammy Mouton and her husband, Lee of Lafayette, LA; his two sisters, Frieda Newport of St. Louis, MO and Dorothea Christensen, of West Alexandria, Ohio; five grandchildren, Arlyn Dale of Albuquerque, Todd Dale of Florida, Robin Mangino of Albuquerque, and Richard Williams of Albuquerque, and Jason Boxx of Lafayette, LA. Carl had 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. He leaves all his descendants with wonderful memories of a father, grandfather, mentor and friend. There will be a graveside service later in the summer.
