HUGHES -- ALICIA L. Age 72, a resident of San Acacia for over 20 years, went to be with the Lord Sunday, February 26, 2012. She is survived by her beloved husband of 40 years, Pete Hughes; daughters, Brenda Hughes and husband, Jerry, and Rosemary L Connor; step-children, Danny Hughes and wife, Esther, Shawn D. Hughes, and Rebecca Bush; sisters, Mary Padilla and Santa Jeffers and husband Chester; brother, Modesto Gutierrez and wife, Meg; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Hughes was preceded in death by her first husband, Stan Corfield and step-daughter, Debbie Hughes. Alicia was a long standing member of the 1st Presbyterian Church of Socorro. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held Saturday, March 3 at 10:00 am at 1st Baptist Church of Socorro, 203 Spring Street.
