PESTINGER -- RICHARD J. age 90, died on 2/16/12. He was a proud Marine who served in the South Pacific on New Zealand, Guadalcanal Tarawa Atoll and Pearl Harbor. He was wounded during the landing at Tarawa and lived with injury his entire life and never complained. With God all things are possible. He will be truly missed. "Semper Fidelis." He is survived by his wife, Mary Dolores Pestinger of 68 years; son, Richard L Pestinger (Donna), daughter, Marilynn A Day, brother, Phillip Pestinger; six grandchildren and 14 great- grandchildren, other relatives: Mickey Dunn, Ed Pestinger, Shirley Arstam, (Dunn), and Gerald Dunn. Richard's Life Celebration will begin on Tuesday, the 21st with a Rosary at 3 pm followed by a Mass at 4 pm at the Sangre de Cristo Church, 8901 Candelaria NE. Burial will be at the Santa Fe National Cemetery Wednesday, the 22nd, at 12:45 pm. Pallbearers will be Mike Day, Pat Day, Chris Day, Richard Pestinger, Jason Goniea and Jordan Day.
