MCCREARY -- CAROLYN J. Age 81, died January 20, 2012. She was born in Ottumwa, Iowa on March 24, 1930 to Harold and Dorothy Chedister. She came to Albuquerque in 1952 with her husband, Dwane, their baby Karla and Dwane's family. She was a homemaker and the best Mom in the world. She was preceded in death by her daughter Judy; her husband Dwane; and her son Max. Carolyn was an active member of Rio Grande Presbyterian Church since 1958, served as a Deacon, was in the choir and volunteered at the Rio Grande Food Project. Carolyn is survived by her daughter Karla DeGroft and husband Bob of Cedar Crest, NM; son Rex McCreary and wife Cathy of Santa Fe, NM; son Gary McCreary and wife Jaycee of Placitas, NM. She is also survived by grandsons Daniel and Brian McCreary; granddaughter Cara McCreary and her mother, Cindy Van Hart; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Urdine and John Grenko; wonderful friends Judy Milner, Stacy McCrary and Anna Iguado. Cremation will take place at Riverside Funeral Home. A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 28th at 1:00 p.m. at Rio Grande Presbyterian Church, 600 Coors Blvd. N.W., Albuquerque. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Rio Grande Food Project or Animal Humane of NM.
