ESCARCIDA -- GILBERT G. Age 85, a resident of Albuquerque, born in Placitas, NM, went peacefully with the Lord surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, January 18, 2012. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Angie; daughter, Kathleen; and brother, Eloy. Gilbert is survived by his daughters, Martha Cleveland and husband Deacon Larry, Geri Anderson and husband Spencer Sr.; son, Gilbert J. Escarcida and wife Nellie; brother, Willie Frances; two sisters, Betty Escarcida and Rose Gonzales; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; as well as many other family and friends who love and will miss him. Services were held at Queen of Heaven Parish, 5310 Clarmonte NE, on Tuesday, January 24, 2012. The Mass of Christian Burial was at 11:00am with Fr. William Young Officiating. Interment followed at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Spencer Anderson, Jr., Beau Anderson, Sean Escarcida, Isabel, Marisol, Paul Gomez. Honorary Pallbearers were Richard Perea, Richard Gutierrez, Joseph Aragon and Gilbert's great-grandchildren. Arrangements by Direct Funeral Services, 2919 4th St. NW ABQ. NM 505-343-8008.
