STOKES -- LOUISE R. Age 93, a native of Missouri, but a long time resident of Rio Rancho, died on Saturday, December 31, 2011, surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Vincent J. Stokes. She is survived by her daughters, Patricia L. Stokes of Rio Rancho, Jeanne Anne Stokes, Rio Rancho, Theresa M. Michael and husband, Tameru, of Rio Rancho; sons, James H. Stokes and wife, Nancy, of Ottertail, MN and Stephen V. Stokes and wife, Patricia, of Excelsior Springs, MO; her grandchildren, David Stokes, Kaye Knox, Etsegenet Michael, Nathaniel Michael, and Jana Lindauer; and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Mary Leonard, of Payton, ID. Louise was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, friend and neighbor who will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Her family was her greatest joy and she was happiest when all of her family was gathered around--whether it was the dinner table, the card table, crowded into the kitchen, or relaxing on her patio enjoying her back yard and view of the Sandia Mountains. She loved cruising, camping, crafts, cooking for her family, and caring for her yard and garden. She was a role model in balancing a successful and gratifying career with caring for her family who never lost sight of the importance of the relationships with her family and the people in her life. She will be forever loved and missed by her family and friends. Friends may visit French, Westside, on Saturday, January 7, 2012, 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Mass will be celebrated following visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at the Resurrection Cemetery in Jefferson City, MO where she will be laid to rest beside her husband, Vincent.
