HARVEY -- JAMES D. LTC Retired U.S. Army James D. Harvey, M.D., 88, a resident of Albuquerque since 1965, passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2011. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Kathryn A. Harvey; seven children, James D. Harvey Jr., Robert R. (Karen) Harvey, Randall L. (Jayne) Harvey, William C. (Valerie) Harvey , Steven S. (Danielle) Harvey, Cynthia A. Eastham, Richard A. (Louise) Harvey; grandchildren, Mark Eastham, Jr., Chrystal, James III, Brianne, Randall, Jr, Leigha, Garrett, Anna, Teressa, Darin, Camryn, Morgan and Holden Harvey; four great-grandchildren, Autumn, Triniti, Richard III, Treavor; two nieces, Betty Ann McNulty and Eileen Veres. Dr. Harvey was preceded in death by his parents, Netherae and James Duke Harvey; and sister, Melba. Dr. Harvey was a past member of Hoffmantown Baptist Church. Prior to moving to Albuquerque Dr. Harvey trained in setting up the artificial Kidney at Ft. Sam Houston, TX before traveling to Landstuhl, Germany with his team. Dr. Harvey served in Augusta, GA as a lead physician on a medical team for Pres. Dwight D. Eisenhower. He also served at many different military bases across the country and attended Flight Surgeon School at Ft. Rucker, AL before settling in Albuquerque with his family. Services will be held on Thursday, December 8, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. in Santa Fe National Cemetery, Rev. Lee Herring officiating.
