NELSON -- JOSEPH ANTHONY Age 76, a resident of Albuquerque since 1976, died Friday, November 25, 2011. He is survived by his loving wife, Marlies E. Nelson of Albuquerque; daughters, Silvia Holpp and husband, Joseph P., and Melissa Ann Otero and husband, Martin; granddaughters, Codie Elizabeth Holpp, Kelsey R. Holpp, and Stephanie A. Holpp; grandson, Martin Christian Otero; step-grandchildren; Thomas M. and Andrea C. Otero; great-granddaughters, Alyssa M. Aday, Jolene L. Cole-Holpp; great-grandson, Kayden Joseph Holpp; twin sister, Mary T. Baumgartner; and brother, Andrew E. Nelson Sr. and wife, Laurene. Joseph retired after twenty-three years in the US Navy as a Chief Petty Officer. He worked for eighteen years at Kirtland AFB in Civil-Service. Mr. Nelson was an active member of the Shrine of St. Bernadette Catholic Church. A Rosary will be recited Tuesday, November 29, 2011, at 7:00 pm at French-Lomas Chapel. Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 30, 2011, at 9:00 am at the Shrine of St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 11401 Indian School Rd NE. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at a later date. Friends may visit French - Lomas Chapel, Tuesday November 29, 2011 one hour prior to the Rosary.
