JONES -- RALPH EDGAR 80, of Florence, CO passed away October 18, 2011 in Florence. He was born September 17, 1931 in Canon City, CO to Richard Edgar and Neva (McGill) Jones. Ralph was a veteran of the Korean War where he was an air traffic controller with the U.S. Air Force. After which he worked for the Federal Aviation Administration and retired in 1990 after 38 years of service. He enjoyed carpentry, singing, pipe organs, and square dancing. Ralph also designed and drafted plans from scratch for an A-frame cabin in the mountains, and with the help of family and friends built it. Skiers, square dancers, and many friends enjoyed having the peaceful area. Ralph is survived by his wife, Glennis Pearl Fourtner of Pueblo, CO; his eldest son and his spouse, Roger and Sara Jones of Las Cruces, NM and youngest son and his spouse, Douglas and Yumi Jones of Franklin, MA; the mother of his children, Nancy Jones; and three grandchildren, Rebecca, Robin and David. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorial Service will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 24, 2011 at Holt Chapel of the Garden at 806 Macon Avenue in Canon City, CO.
