OQUIN -- HUGHRY LEE 67, of Peralta, New Mexico passed away Thursday morning on September 15, 2011 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 26, 1944 in Barland Mississippi, the son of late Willis "Willie" Hamilton Houston and Rosie Mae O'Quin. He was one of 13 siblings. Hughry Lee Oquin met Carol Frances Otero June of 1972 and was joined in holy matrimony December 10, 1976. Hughry served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era. He retired (35 years) from Navy Public Works Center, San Diego, CA as Journeyman Rigger and Crew Chef. He loved reminiscing about family and friends, road trips, camping, gardening and bird watching. Hughry is survived by his loving wife, Carol Frances Otero Oquin; children, Hughry "Chip" and Daniela Oquin, Niki and Susanna "Sanna" Oquin, Bettina "Tina" and Hector Fragoso, Foluke "Tunu" and Gilbert Cota, Chioke Oquin; grandchildren, Donte Oquin, Coatney Santillanez, Maximilian Oquin, Nemiah Oquin, Hector M. Fragoso, Gabriel Fragoso, Zachary Harvey, Sumaria Harvey, Levi Cota, Silas Cota, Kaden Cota; siblings, Willie B. (David) Fowlkes, Norman (Dorothy) O'Quin, Percy O'Quin, Russell (Linda) O'Quin and a host of nieces, nephews and other special family and friends. Hughry was preceded in death by his father, Willie Houston and mother, Rosie Mae O'Quin; brothers, Dennis "DC" Moore and Clide "Truby" O'Quin; sisters, Wendy Ynette O'Quin and Annie Mae Jackson. Services were held on Saturday, September 17, 2011, 10:00 a.m., at Mt. Calvary Chapel, 1900 Edith NE. Private disposition will take place at a later date.
