BENTON -- FILOMENA ANNA Age 79, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, passed away Thursday, September 8, 2011. Born in Silver City, NM to Henry and Juana S. Alderette. A Long time resident of Albuquerque, she graduated from Western New Mexico University with a Masters in Elementary Education. After working 35 years for New Mexico Schools, she retired from Albuquerque Public Schools. She also worked for the Federal Government in the Department of the Interior. Her employment included eight years at the Jemez Pueblo School System. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Jose Luis Rivera in 1970; her second husband, William S. Benton in 2008; her son, Stephen Rivera of Albuquerque. Filomena is survived by one sister, Vita Romero of Carlsbad; daughter, Amy Wohlegmuth of San Diego; sons, James, Gilbert and Louis Rivera of Albuquerque; grandson, Rosendo Rivera of Albuquerque; stepdaughters, Kathy Allen and Terri Rhodes of Santa Fe; granddaughter, Michelle Morgan; six great-grandchildren, all of Albuquerque. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, September 15, 2011 at 10:00 am at Daniels Family Funeral Service, Sara Chapel, 4310 Sara Road, Rio Rancho and inurnment will follow immediately in the Vista Verde Memorial Park.
