MARTINEZ -- WILLIAM E. "BILLY" Age 73, a resident of Albuquerque, NM passed away after struggling with a long illness, on Friday August 19, 2011. Billy had his niece and goddaughter, Karen Andrea, by his side. He was preceded in death by his parents, J.B. and Matilda Martinez; his sisters, Kathleen and Dolores; brother, Eddie. Billy is survived by his son, William Justin Martinez and wife Jessica; Billy's three grandchildren, Aidan, Marisol, and Aislynn. He is also survived by two sisters, Mary Martinez and Alyce Trujillo; three brothers, Herbert and wife Edith, Robert, and JB Jr. and wife Lucy; as well as his nieces and nephews; goddaughter, Roberta Kitting. Billy was born on January 30, 1938 to Matilda and JB Martinez Sr. in Taos, New Mexico. After attending trade school in Los Angeles, Billy moved back to New Mexico and settled in Albuquerque. Billy worked for the Albuquerque Journal as a printer until his retirement. Billy enjoyed eating at the Frontier, being home, and watching old westerns on TV. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and wonderful friends. Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at 7 p.m. at St Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, September 15 at 10 a.m. at St Charles Church. A private burial will be held in Taos at a later date.
