KLECZKA -- VIOLET DOROTHY beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, died in New York City on August 17, 2011 at age 89 of double pneumonia. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Peter Frank Kleczka; and children Patricia Fernandez, Joseph Kleczka, Veronica Hendricks, Peter John Kleczka; 13 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. Violet worked for over 30 years in religious education at St. John's Catholic Church where she established and directed a highly successful youth program and founded the parish lending library. In the 1980's she returned to school to learn computer programming and worked for many years in that field. A lover of books and learning, she continued taking college courses at every possible opportunity in a variety of areas. Violet is remembered by her family and countless friends for her wit, wisdom, humility, uncompromising integrity and overall kindness. She will be terribly missed. Services will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church at 1301 Osage Ave. Rosary will be recited on Sunday, September 11, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, September 12, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. Fr. Nathan Libaire will officiate. Internment to follow at Rosario Catholic Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. John's soup kitchen.
