JONES -- NELSON LEE Age 72, died July 31, 2011. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Madelyn; children, David J Cerame and wife Susan, Stephanie A Jones, Jason M Jones, Matthew L Jones and wife Amber; grandchildren, Stacy, Nelson, Mariah, Spencer, Tyler, Kathrine and Dalton. Nelson was also survived by three great-grandchildren; many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil L and Dorothy A Jones; brother, Kenton Jones; sister, Sandra Garcia. Mr. Jones was a graduate of Albuquerque High School and served his country in the New Mexico Air National Guard. He worked with the Operating Engineers Union, Local #953 and then at the University of New Mexico as a computer analyst before retiring in 1995. Mr. Jones was the leather craftsman with Common Market at the Flea Market and State Fair since 1975, a craft he learned in 4-H at the age of ten. Nelson could also be seen every year at Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta pitching the famous balloon hat. He liked going to the movie theater with his wife and family. Nelson was much loved and will be dearly missed. Services will be held Friday, August 5, 2011, 11:00 a.m., at French, Westside Chapel, with burial to follow.
