GILSON -- BRUCE Died July 3, 2011. He was born in El Paso, Texas, January 31, 1949, and was a resident of Socorro, New Mexico since 1985. Before his retirement, he worked as a semi-driver, heavy equipment operator, welder, and scrap dealer. Most recently he volunteered with the DAV in Socorro, helping with fund-raising dinners and driving veterans to the VA hospital in Albuquerque. He was preceded in death by his father, Earl A. Gilson. He is survived by his wife of more than 40 years, Nancy Reynolds Gilson; his mother, Margaret Ann Gilson; brother, Preston A. Gilson and wife, Christine; sons, James A. Gilson and wife, Darhla Hatch, and William C. Gilson and wife, Susan Voss; and daughter, Denise J. Gilson and husband, Eric Sewell. He left three wonderful grandchildren, Joseph A. Gilson, Virginia A. Gilson, and Riley A. Sewell. A private family memorial is planned.
