MCCARTHY -- Nikki McCarthy, age 61, died April 19, 2011. She is survived by her partner, Patty Mourant of Albuquerque; her parents, Rev. Richard and Mrs. Helen McCarthy of Albuquerque; and her sister, Jan McCarthy of Glendale, CA. Nikki had a profound love of the natural world; birding and photography connected her to nature wherever she was. Professionally, she worked first in forestry, then shifted midlife to clinical social work. She brought a deep sense of caring and respect to both. She will be remembered and treasured by many families, children, colleagues, and friends as well as her feathered and four legged companions. A service honoring and celebrating Nikki's life will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2011, Elena Gallegos Open Space, at 3:00 PM.
