HALEY -- Hilda Irene Haley was born December 12, 1923 in Watertown, New York to Edward and Lillian LaDuke and was called home by the Lord on April 16, 2011 at the age of 87. Hilda is survived by her loving family, son John Haley Jr and wife, Pamela; James Haley and wife Shannon, daughter Karen Bonillo and husband Jim and six grandchildren, Rachel and Michael Bonillo, Tripp and Taylor Haley, Jamie Lynne Boroff and Brooke Haley. She is also survived by sisters; Carol (LaDuke) Dulmage and husband Bill, Beverly (LaDuke) Walsh and brother Donald LaDuke and wife, Lenore. Hilda was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, Jack Haley. Hilda walked and lived in faith with our Lord and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. As a Navy wife, Hilda and Jack moved around every few years but Albuquerque has been home since 1961 when they retired from the Navy. There are still those who remember Jack and Hilda as being the best apartment managers Mountain View Apartments ever had. She and Jack were part of a tight knit group of military retirees who bowled, played cards and loved to dance. Hilda had an unwavering faith in the Lord and Queen of Heaven Catholic Community was a huge part of her life. It was almost as though there was a pew reserved at daily mass and 7:30 on Sundays. She was an active member of the CDA (Catholic Daughters of America) for many years and carried on the tradition of service as a patient transport, volunteer at the Veterans Hospital in southeast Albuquerque, logging over 7,000 hours during her 35 years of service. Everyone at the Vets looked forward to her cookies on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Hilda had a zest for life, but always kept busy, she loved baking, reading, keeping a clean house (she loved to move furniture) walking with her canine companion Shep and even began taking swimming exercise classes at the base a couple of years ago. The holidays were especially joyful for her and many LaDuke/Haley traditions will be treasured and carried on by her children and grandchildren. She was loved by many and a true inspiration to all who knew her. We will miss her deeply. Hilda requested Mass Cards in lieu of flowers. Hildas care has been entrusted to: Daniels Family Funeral Service 3113 Carlisle Boulevard, NE Albuquerque, NM 87110 505-884-1188
