MACFADDEN-CONTRERAS -- Amanda Contreras MacFadden, a resident of Headland, AL passed away Saturday afternoon April 9, 2011. She was 28. The Rosary will be held at 6:00 p.m. April 19, 2011 at ST Therese Catholic Church. The Funeral will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at St. Therese Catholic Church, 300 Mildred Ave NW, Alb, NM 87107. RECEPTION TO FOLLOW FUNERAL AT AMERICAN LEGION POST 69, 9000 FOURTH ST NW, ALAMEDA, NM 87114 (505-898-9918) Amanda Contreras MacFadden was a native of Albuquerque, NM and formerly lived in Enterprise, AL before moving to Headland in June 2010. Amanda always loved music even as a little girl. She sang in the choir at Longfellow ES, Garfield MS and Valley HS and in the Albuquerque girls' choir. She also sang with her mother Patti in the choir at St. Therese Catholic Church. Amanda was on her way to a great musical career; she even cut a couple of CDs. She was currently attending Troy University Dothan where she was a Senior majoring in Psychology. Amanda served her country in the Army National Guard in the Ozark unit. She was preceded in death by her father, Claude Palmer Reedy and her grandfather,Palmer C. Reedy. Surviving relatives include her husband, Dr. Joseph Kevin MacFadden, Headland, AL; her mother, Patricia Contreras Reedy, Alb, NM; two brothers, Timothy (Timo) Reedy, Alb, NM and Jacob Reedy and wife, Christina, San Antonio, TX; a step-daughter, Jennifer MacFadden; two step-sons, Jacob and Ryan MacFadden, all of Dothan, AL; her grandparents, Robert and Jenny Contreras, and Gloria Reedy, all of Alb, NM; two sisters-in-law, Selana MacFadden and Gayle Nelson, Columbia, AL; a brother-in-law, Walter Edgar (Bo) MacFadden and wife, Machelle, Park Hill, OK; mother-in-law, Agnes L. Karvonen, Headland, AL; aunts, Chris Mills and husband, Carl of West Palm Beach, FL, Diane Hoffman and husband of NC, Bill, Shirley Mitchell and husband, Doug, Agatha Fullton and husband, Vaughn of Alb; uncles, Rob Contreras and wife, Ellen Berler of Tallahassee, FL, Michael Contreras, Thomas Contreras, Charles Reedy and wife, Cindy, Christian Reedy and wife, Marya, all of Alb, NM; several cousins, nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Amanda was a shining star and she will be truly missed.
