FUQUA -- Robert (Dave) Fuqua, 80, an Albuquerque resident since 1987, passed away Saturday, February 19, 2011. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, June Fuqua of Albuquerque; sons Christopher Fuqua and wife Patti of Albuquerque, Robert Fuqua of Reno, NV; daughters, Jan Lesslie and husband Jeff of Albuquerque and Sharon Etzler and husband Thom of Hutchinson, KS; grandchildren, Justin, Christopher E., Ashley, Nick and Mitchell Fuqua, Rick Lesslie and wife, Rachael, Katie Lesslie, Kara Bramblett and husband Boggy, Steve and Matt Jennings; 5 great-grandchildren; brothers, Samuel Fuqua of Oregon and Nathaniel Fuqua of Arizona; sister Martie Neuman of California. Dave was a member of San Pasqual Lodge # 452, A. F. & A. M. in Pasadena, CA and was a member of the Midian Shrine Temple in Hutchinson, KS. Prior to moving to Albuquerque, Dave managed five Standard Shoe Stores in southern California. He was the new car sales manager for Bob Bottomley Oldsmobile-Cadillac-Datsun dealership in Hutchinson, KS from 1970 to 1982. After moving to Albuquerque he worked as a sales representative for American Home Furnishings for 17 years retiring in 2004. His hobbies include golf, crossword puzzles, boating and fishing which he shared with his family and friends. He was a huge sports enthusiast. He was a loving, caring husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who put everyone else first. He always thought of everyone else even to the very end. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, February 24, 2011 at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery in Hutchinson, KS.
