CHAVEZ -- Emma S. Chavez, 90, of Albuquerque, NM, passed away Friday, February 18, 2011 after a long illness. Born in Lyden, NM in 1920, she moved to Albuquerque in 1952. She was a devout member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church. Beloved mother of Clarence (Natalie), Gina (husband, Jay) Watson, and Louis; loving grandmother of five; proud great-grandmother of ten; and devoted sister of Margaret Larragoite, Candy Martinez, and Eloy Sanchez. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, John; and brothers, Joseph and Ralph Sanchez. A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at French Mortuary - University Chapel, 1111 University Blvd., NE, Albuquerque, NM. Mass of the Resurrection will be said at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 23, 2011, at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, 833 Arizona Street, S.E., Albuquerque, NM, followed by interment at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM.
